LTA - "Future Days"
On June 26, 2025, EMN Luxembourg hosted a “Destination Europe” session for 19 students aged 13 to 16 at the Lycée Technique Agricole (LTA) in Gilsdorf. The workshop took place as part of the school’s “Futures Days” initiative, where students from lower high school classes had the opportunity to sign up for different workshops on the topic of sustainability.
The workshop began with a short introduction where the EMN as well as the tool itself were presented. This was followed by a Destination Europe session, where students stepped into the shoes of various stakeholders and had the opportunity to negotiate migration policies at different levels.
While some students reported initial difficulties in getting into the activity, nearly all of them enjoyed the group work and the discussions. The teacher, who also filled out the dedicated feedback form, acknowledged the potential of the learning tool and considered that it could also be used in other settings and school subjects.

LTPES - "Children's Rights Week"
The final Destination Europe workshop of the 2024/25 school year was held on July 4, 2025, at the Lycée Technique pour Professions Educatives et Sociales (LTPES) in Mersch, as part of the school’s “Kannerrechtswoch” (Children’s Rights Week), a themed week focusing on children’s and human rights.
16 final year students had the opportunity to discuss different migration challenges on the European, national and local level and see the impacts of their decisions on migrants and the receiving societies.
In their feedback, some students expressed a desire for the topics of migration and integration to be more extensively covered within the Luxembourg educational system. The teacher, who actively participated in the role-playing activity, also provided feedback at the end. He expressly praised the tool’s ability to facilitate debate on this complex and sensitive topic in a playful manner.
Fun fact: The workshop happend to be the very last school lesson in the participants’ high school careers. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for their active participation (which was certainly not a given) and wish them all the best in their professional lives.
