Throughout the first two months of 2025, EMN Luxembourg has continued actively disseminating the Destination Europe learning tool by organising dedicated workshops in partnering high schools.
On 8 January, EMN Luxembourg visited the Lycée Technique de Lallange in Esch-sur-Alzette, holding two dedicated workshops for 29 students in total. Destination Europe was used to deepen students’ understanding of migration and integration, topics that are important elements of their “Life and society” course (Vie et société – VieSO).
The following week, on 15 January, 11 students from the “Be creative, be active in politics” course immersed themselves in migration decision-making, taking on the roles of different stakeholders and discussing the impacts of their decisions. This option-course for 6th year high school students (2e) is organised by the Lycée Technique d’Ettelbruck.
On 04 February, the interactive learning tool enabled 22 3rd year high school students (5e) from the Atert-Lycée Redange to delve into migration policies on the European, national and local level. Students stepped into the shoes of stakeholders and learned what impacts political decisions have on migrants and on the general public. This workshop was organized in the context of the “AllRaus -outdoor school” pilot project, which emphasises interdisciplinary and extracurricular learning, taking into account the mental health of participants and the connection to nature and to oneself. Interventions from various stakeholders are seen as a vital part of this project and EMN Luxembourg was very glad to offer a different entry point into the discussions on migration and living together.
EMN Luxembourg would like to thank all three high schools for their interest in the learning tool and is looking forward to future workshops on migration.
