Integration Week in Paris
On Monday, 6 October 2025, EMN France participated in the launch seminar of the annual Integration week in Paris, organised by the Directorate for Integration and Access to Nationality of the Ministry of Interior.
During this 5th edition, the seminar brought together institutional stakeholders, associations, representatives from the economic sector and partner territories to discuss current developments in France’s integration policy.
EMN France hosted a stand which gathered great interest. Many visitors came to learn about the EMN’s mission and tools such as Destination Europe and the EMN Asylum and Migration Glossary. Many asked for additional information on these tools and enquired about specific trainings or presentations for their audiences.
Exchange with Europe Direct and workshop with university students in Strasbourg
In the morning of Thursday, 9 October 2025, the EMN France team visited the Europe Direct Centre in Strasbourg to discuss a potential joint event with EMN Germany and EMN Luxembourg. This event is tentatively scheduled for the start of the 2026/27 academic year with a focus on the Destination Europe learning tool.
In the afternoon, EMN France held a Destination Europe workshop for students of the master’s program “Area of Freedom, Security and Justice” offered by the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Management of the University of Strasbourg.
Students first tested their knowledge by playing a glossary definition game and participating in a quiz on key migration and asylum figures. In a second step, they had the opportunity to step into the shoes of different migration and integration stakeholders by using the Destination Europe learning tool. Students particularly enjoyed the role-playing aspect of the exercise, which required them to defend positions that sometimes differed from their personal opinions. Finally, they also noted that the tool was helpful to become more aware of the impact that political decisions have on both migrants and the public opinion in host countries.
What participants are saying:
“It is a very useful way to learn more and reflect on this subject.”
“This game is both fun and educational. However, I think it requires some knowledge of law or political science or, more generally, of how the institutions around us work.”
